Country Manor Shake is produced from aluminum, a permanently rust-free metal that has withstood the test of time on roofs dating back 100 years and more.

Low Weight

Many roofing materials are the weight equivalent of several large trucks sitting on your home. This is not good for any home, let alone an older home, and it can be particular devastating in the event of seismic activity. Our shake weighs less than 50 pounds per 100 square feet. FoamGuard is a patented expanded polystyrene “free-floating” foam insert designed to fill the void
created between the Perfection Country Manor Aluminum Shake panel and roof deck without putting any upward pressure on the panel. It is made locally in Hawaii and offers several valuable benefits:

Increased Walk Ability

Although the Perfection aluminum shake roof can be walked on without the FoamGuard insert, one has to use a little care to avoid denting the material. The roof becomes very solid with the FoamGuard inserts in place and will easily support the weight of untrained individuals with no sign of denting.

Maintenance projects such as termite tenting, painting and tree trimming become very easy and less expensive when the workers can walk on the roof without fear of damaging the panels. The FoamGuard inserts can be installed under the entire roof or it can be limited to predetermined walkways.

Increased Insulation

EPS foam is a very good insulator (visualize a foam cup containing boiling hot coffee). The aluminum shake roof with the FoamGuard insert will be cooler than virtually any other roofing system on the market.

Wood Boring Insect Resistance

FoamGuard is made with “Perform Guard”, a patented process which includes a naturally safe, non-corrosive and non-toxic mineral which has been formulated to resist wood boring insects. The material is safe and is approved by the EPA.

Quiet Performance

Since FoamGuard is “free-floating”, it does not rub on the aluminum panel and create annoying sounds as the panel expands and contracts with temperature changes. The insert also serves to deaden the sound of heavy rain.
